Sally Tassani, Founder & CEO, The Strategy Forums
Sally currently leads a number of professional groups (including CEOs and key executives in human resource, marketing, sales, and financial positions) that build knowledge, enhance leadership, and increase performance. In addition, she runs an executive coaching practice and facilitates executive team-building sessions.
Tassani’s success is based on more than her business experience and insights. It comes from her ability to connect with and lead individuals and executive teams to examine their capabilities thoroughly. Capitalizing on strengths and forming action plans to shore up weaknesses, she also encourages robust dialogue among team members to achieve unprecedented results for their business.
After graduating with a degree from the American University in Washington, D.C., Tassani taught underprivileged children in the area. Three years later, she began her business career, moving to Chicago where opportunities were more plentiful. She worked for three Chicago companies—large and small—before founding her own marketing agency, Nexus.
In 1984, Inc. Magazine recognized Nexus—later named Tassani Communications and then Tassani & Paglia—as one of America’s fastest growing privately owned companies. The firm achieved consistent double-digit growth for over 15 years. In addition, the company became a forerunner in integrated communications and pioneered the offering of all disciplines under one roof. This unique position branded the agency and attracted clients such as Abbott Laboratories, American Express, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Wendy’s International.

Beth has over 12 years experience in strategic business consulting, executive coaching, organizational change management, leadership development and team effectiveness. She is an executive coach, leadership and team effectiveness consultant, and comedic improviser. Beth helps leaders develop adaptability and creativity using improvisational (‘improv’) comedy techniques. She combines her deep knowledge of leadership and hands-on experience with improv to customize leadership programs that are fun, engaging and deliver results.
Prior to partnering with IWL and creating ACTUP Consulting, Beth was a consultant and executive coach for Deloitte Consulting in Washington D.C. While at Deloitte, she led a 25-person $5M organizational change management project for a government client that included leadership, stakeholder engagement, and training strategy development and implementation. While living in DC, Beth started an improv comedy troupe called Press Play. After experiencing the positive impact improv had on her life, she developed an “Improvisation for Effective Leadership” workshop that uses the principles of improv comedy to build leadership skills. Beth developed an improv training course for Deloitte and supported Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh as part of his Delivering Happiness tour.
Beth graduated from UC San Diego where she focused on Urban Studies and Planning and Economics. She earned her MBA from Kelley Business School at Indiana University with a focus on strategic management consulting.
