2014 Charity Spotlight Award Recipient
Women’s Fund of Central Indiana
Every year the IWL Conference Advisory Board unanimously chooses an Indiana not-for-profit organization as its Charity Spotlight Award Recipient. By highlighting the work of a worthy organization, IWL draws attention to critical needs we face throughout the state. These organizations sometimes work quietly and without recognition in our communities to better the lives of women and children who may not have the capacity to help themselves. They help women build stronger networks, create opportunities and become the best version of themselves.
This year IWL is extremely proud to be supporting Women’s Fund of Central Indiana as its Charity Spotlight for the 2014 Brand You Women’s Leadership Conference. Our two organizations have a mutual interest in improving the lives of women in our community and we are thrilled to be coming together in this effort.
What is Women’s Fund of Central Indiana?
Women’s Fund creates options and opportunities for women and girls in central Indiana through the effective distribution of grants to women and girl serving organizations and through the philanthropic engagement and education of current and potential donors.
Women’s Fund is the expert resource for issues impacting women and girls in central Indiana. Its vision is to be the most influential funding organization creating transformative and sustainable change for women and girls.
Founded in 1996, it is a special interest fund of CICF which:
- Transforms the lives of women and girls through grants to effective not-for-profits.
- Provides a lasting impact for women and girls today, and always, through a permanent endowment and philanthropic education.
- Researches, compiles, and communicates the challenges facing women and girls in our community.
Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Women’s Fund endowment, since 1999, over $4.1 million has been distributed to 93 women and girl serving organizations through 257 grants.
Current funding priorities are:
- Caregiving
- Domestic violence
- Insufficient income
- Needs of girls
Long-term interests include:
- Health
- Economic empowerment
- Self-development
Women’s Fund will be featured on the main stage at the IWL Conference to share the organization’s mission and plans for future projects.
IWL will give attendees the opportunity to donate the day of the conference and we strongly encourage you to do so. You will have a chance to win a prize from variety of drawing items contributed by generous contributors. All proceeds will be awarded to Women’s Fund. Please register for the conference and come prepared to support this fantastic organization.
